Huge Charity Drive at Gala Bingo

Gala Bingo are currently on a huge charity drive at their land based bingo halls and their online bingo site. The game of bingo has always supported charities throughout the years and Gala Bingo have always done their bit, but this time they have certainly stepped it up a gear as they have already pledged to raise at least £1 million pounds for Sue Ryder Care over the next 18 months and along with this we have just seen them take the initiative to join the pennies from heaven scheme.

The pennies from heaven scheme is an innovative idea that allows you to donate the pennies of your payslip and as we know whist pennies don’t really amount to much nowadays, but when you add then all up from lots of different denotations they can end up coming to a tidy amount. As the saying goes what you did not have you do not miss and if you think that you would not miss the pennies of your pay packet at the end of each week or month and you wanted to donate to charity, then the pennies from heaven scheme might be one to take a look at.

All employees at Gala Bingo have been given the option to join the pennies from heaven scheme and as there are approximately £19,000 people employed throughout all the Gala Coral divisions, if the majority of their employees opt into this scheme it is going to be great news for the Sue Ryder Care charity as all donations will be going directly to them.

What Gala Bingo have said to their employees is, if they don’t think that they would miss those pennies each week of their pay slips, then here is how they could basically put them to good use. The maximum amount that could be taken of anyone’s pay slip is capped at 99p on the pennies from heaven scheme.

Anthony Law, Managing Director of Pennies from Heaven, said, “We are delighted that Gala Coral staff have been given the opportunity to give their pennies to Sue Ryder Care via this simple scheme.  Whilst as individuals the amounts are small, but if all of Gala Coral’s staff got involved, in excess of £150,000 per year could be raised. Who said that pennies don’t add up!”

Even though our bingo clubs have been facing some tough times over the past few years, this has not stopped them coming out in support of charities, so you really have got to take your hat off to them.
